Moped Rental Cost London: Weekly Prices & Cost Comparison | Ride Today
Price it properly

What does moped rental cost in London?

The Vmoto VS2 is available from £45 per week and the Zero LS1 from £85 per week. The actual subscription cost depends on the subscription duration you choose and any additions. Check the live product page to see the price for your selected options.

To compare rentals fairly, ask for the total cost over the same period. Compare what the hiring agreement actually includes rather than assuming every subscription covers every repair or breakdown cost. We service our mopeds every six weeks and review the agreement with you before you sign.

The comparison checklist

Five costs people often forget to compare

Upfront money

Ask about deposit, setup fee, collection requirements, first payment and whether any amount is refundable.

Insurance and excess

Food delivery is insured through our setup. We work with all insurance parties; we will check your CBT, licence and documents and explain the relevant agreement before handover.

Maintenance

We service our mopeds every six weeks. If something needs attention between services—for example, a loose brake lever or a tyre that needs attention—contact us and we will assess it. Faults and damage are handled under the hiring agreement.

Downtime

If you need help during a shift, ask us how to contact the team and what support applies under your hiring agreement. We do not promise a replacement vehicle unless the agreement says so.

Charging and kit

Budget for charging access and any helmet, lock, clothing or other equipment not explicitly included.

Exit terms

Understand minimum term, notice, cancellation, return condition and possible damage charges before you start.

How to compare rent versus buy

Use the same period and the same assumptions

For a temporary work placement, calculate the subscription payments for the actual available term, plus any non-included costs. For buying, add the purchase price and expected running costs, then subtract a realistic resale value at the end. Include insurance, maintenance, repairs, security and the time it may take to sell the vehicle. Without a realistic resale estimate and actual quotes, claiming that one option is always cheaper would be misleading.

Simple formula:
Subscription total = all subscription payments + upfront charges + excluded costs.
Ownership total = purchase price + insurance + maintenance/repairs + equipment/charging − resale value.

Ask providers to put the important inclusions and exclusions in writing. If you intend to deliver food, verify that the vehicle subscription and insurance permit paid delivery; ordinary social, domestic and pleasure insurance does not cover delivery work by itself.

FAQs

Moped rental prices in London

What is the starting price for a Ride Today moped?

The Vmoto VS2 is available from £45 per week and the Zero LS1 from £85 per week. The actual subscription cost depends on the subscription duration you choose and any additions. Check the live product page to see the price for your selected options.

Is maintenance included?

Our website describes its subscriptions as including maintenance/repairs and breakdown support. Check the specific product page and contract for exclusions, claim processes and any excess or damage charges.

Is electric cheaper to run than petrol?

Electricity can cost less per mile than petrol, but the real comparison depends on charging tariff, energy use, battery condition, mileage, insurance, maintenance and subscription price. Do not compare energy cost alone with the full petrol vehicle cost.

Can I cancel whenever I want?

The Ride Today homepage mentions “cancel anytime”, but you should still read the live terms for notice, billing, return condition and any other conditions before booking.
