Getting Started with the VMOTO VS2

Welcome to your VMOTO VS2. Whether you’re using it for food deliveries, commuting or getting around London, take a little time to familiarise yourself with your moped before setting off.

Before your first ride

Check your documents

Make sure you meet the applicable licensing requirements and have completed the required collection process.

Wear your helmet

Use a suitable, correctly fitting helmet and appropriate riding equipment.

Familiarise yourself with the controls

Understand how your specific vehicle starts, stops and operates. Follow the instructions supplied with it.

Check the vehicle

Look for visible damage, check the tyres and brakes, and make sure nothing appears loose or out of place. Don’t ride if you identify a safety-critical problem.

Check your battery

Make sure you have sufficient charge for your planned journey and understand the battery arrangements supplied with your subscription.

Get comfortable before entering traffic

If you’re new to riding an electric moped, take time to understand how the vehicle responds. Find a suitable, safe place to familiarise yourself with the controls and handling before riding in traffic. Leave sufficient space, signal clearly and stay aware of pedestrians, cyclists and other road users.

Plan your journey

  • Consider how far you need to travel.
  • Check that your battery has enough charge.
  • Plan where you can safely park.
  • Understand whether you’ll need to recharge or use an available battery-swapping arrangement.
  • Follow the road rules and restrictions relevant to your route.

If you’re working as a delivery rider, allow time to get used to the vehicle before accepting a busy shift.

Looking after your VS2

  • Check the tyres and brakes before riding.
  • Keep the moped secure when parked.
  • Follow the supplied battery-safety instructions.
  • Attend the required servicing appointments.
  • Report faults or damage promptly.

Servicing is included in the subscription arrangements, but you are responsible for booking and attending the required appointments. Consult your hire agreement for the applicable schedule.

What if something goes wrong?

If you notice a warning light, unusual noise, handling problem or other fault, stop somewhere safe. Don’t continue riding if you believe the vehicle is unsafe. Contact Ride Today and follow the reporting procedures in your hire agreement.
